My book has no date but I believe it was published about 1923, by Hutchinson, and also that it was at some time 2 Vols but this is the book in 1 volume, 976 pages (the book is a bit bigger than A4) plus index. It has one loose contents page in the front and one loose colour plate, plus the back of one plate has a picture drawn on it in pencil, and there is some writing at the back of the book. The reason why I am not certain of the date is that the title page is missing, and also the frontispiece, other than that the book is all there including the 24 full page colour plates (excluding the frontispiece that is). The book has a dark blue cover with gilt decoration and lettering on the front and spine although the spine is quite difficult to read now. The cover is quite dirty and it has become detached inside the book, but the back cover is still attached inside. Despite the poor state of the cover and the missing title and frontispiece pages, the book is still worth having, not least for some of the old instruments and observatories in photos and diagrams. It has very many illustrations in black and white throughout the book. This is a very heavy book, it will have to be sent in a box, so postage will be £7.95 parcel post. .Having retired and become a pensioner I am selling my collection of books that I have amassed, some quite recently and some over many years, plus a few postcards and other items, and some clothes and other bits for the family.  Some friends, learning of my clearout, proceeded to do the same and have given me several boxes of books to sell with an instruction that I can keep whatever I can get for them. The intelligent books will be theirs! Mine are mainly illustrated, old, first editions or just plain collectable books that have caught my eye at some time. I have also been selling books and clothes, and anything else that gets given to me, for charity for over three years now on E-Bay (makes a change to be selling some of my own stuff now, but downsizing looms,  and there's too many boxes and bookcases to move when it becomes a reality). I will combine two or more items together for postage, whether they are mine or my family's, or the charity ones, to help you save postage.
