MID 20th CENTURY STERLING SILVER KNIFE
William Adams, Inc., Sheffield England Blade
Description: This beautiful sterling silver knife features a sterling handle and a stainless steel blade. Not sure what this particular knife is used for, likely cheese serving. The design is fairly simple, with a small beadwork along the edges, a rose in the middle, with grapes on top, and scrollwork throughout. On the top is a spot for a monogram on both sides, though none is present. The blade features two small prongs on top, and a bottle opener loop on the bottom.
On the handle it is marked “STERLING HANDLE” and on the base of the blade in script “William Adams, Inc.” and “SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND” and off to the side “STAINLESS STEEL”.
Measurements: It measures approximately 9” long. The handle itself measures 4 ¼” long. The blade is 4 7/8” long.
Condition: This is in very good condition. There are no breaks, splits or repairs. It has some light surface scratches throughout due to age and use, though it still retains its shine.
QUESTIONS:
· All items I sell have multiple pictures and are described as completely and accurately as I can with my limited knowledge, however, if you have any questions, or require any additional information, please feel free to contact me at loranneturgeon@hotmail.com . I will try to answer your question within a 24-hour period.
PACKAGING:
· I pack things carefully and securely to the best of my ability, and use ample packing material. I do not charge for handling and packaging, but it may increase shipment costs to ensure safe travel.
SHIPPING:
· I usually ship USPS Priority Mail, unless you would prefer first class or parcel post, which is likely cheaper. I don’t always know how much it will cost to ship your item exactly until the auction closes and the item is won – that is when I carefully wrap it, then weigh it. At that time I will notify you of the costs, depending on your choice of shipment.
· International bidders, I will ship USPS International First Class, unless otherwise requested. Please e-mail for approximate shipping rates before bidding, since they vary depending on where you are located.
· I recommend you purchase insurance. If you choose not to purchase insurance, I will be sympathetic to your cause, but it will be your loss. I cannot be held liable for any damages that occur during shipment, either way, as I have no control once it leaves my hands. Should it get damaged, you are responsible for filing the claim with the US Postal Service.
· Shipping will usually be immediate once payment has cleared, however, I reserve the right to do so up to four days following the sale as this is a part-time endeavor - and sometimes I’m off to auctions searching for new things!
PAYMENT:
· Payment expected within 5 days, (if not able to, please contact me to make other arrangements).
· Per Ebay’s policy, I can accept:
PayPal (preferred)
ProPay
Or, for those of you local, pay in person when you pick up – no
personal checks, please.
FEEDBACK:
· I process my feedback once a month - I do take it seriously. I hope you will as well.
Thank you for your interest and thanks for bidding,
