This is an exquisite christening set which I have hand made and hand smocked from a beautiful quality cream silk taffeta.  It has a lovely feel to it and does not seem to crush.  The set comprises dress, bonnet and petticoat.  The petticoat is made from cream poly cotton.  The dress measures 25" from shoulder to hem and 20" around at the underarms.  I have made it from a size 3 month pattern but I feel it may fit a slightly older baby.  The dress is smocked in matching cream silk and embroidered with tiny lemon roses across the smocking (therefore it could be used for a boy).  The yoke is trimmed with matching cream satin piping and has bands of lace set into the front yoke.  The sleeves are short and puffed and also lace trimmed.  Around the very full hemline I have added rows of pretty cream lace and rows of narrow pintucks.  It really is a very pretty dress and would make a perfect family heirloom.  The matching bonnet is made from the silk and trimmed with the same lace as the dress.  The petticoat hemline is trimmed with pretty lace and machine embroidery.  The dress closes at the back with tiny cream buttons.  It comes from a smoke free home.  I would like payment within five days of the auction end. m  Please email me if you require more photos.  I mail overseas and mailing cost within Australia is $7.00 by registered mail.
