Welcome to the auction for my home theatre projector screen
Dimensions: 186cm x 140cm
This is an absolute custom one off that I built myself. The material is heavy professional grade projector material (the same stuff used in commercial screens), and was very expensive to buy. The material is stretched over a tough but very light aluminium box section rectangular frame.
Its light, yet very strong. Gives you a perfectly flat screen that you can easily store in the spare room, and bring out when you having a move night (one person can lift it on their own very easily). I just let it stand on top of my speakers in front of the TV (see pic), but you could just rest against a wall. Would also suit permanent mounting on a wall if you have a dedicated theatre room (its light, so would not need much in the way of special brackets to mount).
The material is laced at the back with thin nylon rope, so this allows for tightenning/re-tensioning the screen surface if necessary. I fitted sailing style brass eyelets to the material to prevent any tearing from the rope - I built this to last! The overall result is that it looks a little odd from the back, but from the front it looks the absolute business!
As you have probably gathered, I didn't build the screen with taking it to bits in mind, but it could be dismantled for transportation if absolutely necessary. However, would be better if you can transport to hour home as it is. I managed to do this easily with a ute when I moved into my current flat - just a matter of checking the dinensions carefully.
Its a couple of years old now, but still in excellent condition. There's a couple of tiny blemishes on the screen front, but there are invisible when you're watching a movie. There are also some marks in the edges of the screen. This is Star Wars, showing on my Tevion projector (also for sale - see other auction), as you can see, its totally awesome! Way way better than projecting into a wall, or a portable screen that can suffer flexing of the screen surface.
This is a one off, so not really possible to say how much it would cost to build/comission your own, but I would guess about $200 for the materials plus a LOT of time!
Starting at only 1c, with no reserve! Grab yourself a unique movie bargain, and what must be a huge saving on a commercial screen of similar size.
