Superb Danish Style "PARKER" Teak extension table that is one of the largest and sleekest tables we've ever come across. This was Parker's "top-of- the-line" model that we call "Slim Edge" as no other table manufactured in Australia had such a slim edge surrounding the top and unsightly apron under the table. This table was also one of the few that expanded leg wise so that 3-4 chairs can be accommodated between the table's legs. Most tables this big had a fixed frame and only allowed 2 chairs between the legs and the rest spread unto the extension leaves. This one is different. As one can see, 4 chairs on each side is ok and a total of 10 chairs is no worries. Great for large gatherings.

These features plus the oval shaped top, slim tapering legs, solid Teak frames and minimalist lines are so contemporaneous and yet this table is over 45+ years old! This is indeed a credit to Parker and it's designers for creating a table that is equal to most Danish tables in this category. Just check out www.greatdanefurniture.com.au to compare this table. Crikey, we've seen this table on many vintage boutique shops with expensive Danish chairs and you wouldn't doubt that it was made in Denmark!

This table was certainly ahead of most of the competition as it was one of the longest tables on the market at the time. When it's 2 extension leaves are in, it is 2.7m long. It's very slim edge made it look sleeker and more unique compared to the other oval and square tables on the market at the time. Parker's craftsmanship was also top class and this table, in this fine condition, is a testament to that reputation. This table will not disappoint! This type of minimalist, sleek design is just superb from any angle as the pictures show. ****Please note that only the table is for sale. All other items are only shown for display here.

To have this table duplicated now in Australia would cost a small fortune as Teak is very expensive, let alone the labour costs. Lovely golden honey color of Teak. Condition now is about 8/10 as there are almost no defects that we can discern except minimal vintage wear. The proud owner obviously looked after this beauty very well. Should last another 50+ years with care.
