Swift Craft Runabout, 4.5m. Mariner 60hp engine. Galvanised trailer.

STARTING PRICE IS THE RESERVE....1 BID WILL OWN IT!

Boat.

The hull is in good condition for it’s age. I don’t know exactly when it was manufactured but I’d say, mid 80’s. The transom is solid, as is the floor. I have fitted new seats and pedestals. Also has a new switch panel fitted. Has a near new Electrophone Marine AM/FM/CD/MP3 player and proper marine speakers. Also, a Garmin Fishfinder 120.

The Teleflex steering is in good order and I have a new Fire Extinguisher as well. There are plenty of rod-holders, 3 fluorescent interior lights. I have put some marine carpet from the seats to the rear of the boat that can be easily removed to wash the inside out. Has navigation lights and a removable mooring light on a pole. The Bimini is new and can be left up when under way without wobbling around. Provides excellent cover. There are also life-jackets, 4, (I think), a pair of oars and an aluminium “mulcher” for the berley bucket. The anchor has miles of near new rope. The anchor chain could probably be cut in half as there is too much. (I just never got round to it). The windscreen is clear.

A 25ltr fuel tank and a 600cca battery, (you could wind this thing over for an hour and still have plenty of life in the battery), complete the inventory. Everything works as it should.

Make no mistake this boat has a few scratches and the paint is a little faded but it is quite presentable. The only negative is the board along the front of the starboard pocket needs to be replaced, along with the small piece of ply the controls are mounted on. I found a small area of rot in the board, so I removed it before it could spread. (Replacing it was a job I never got around to doing). A very easy fix that would take about 30 minutes. (The starboard pocket can be seen in one of the pics). Completely useable as-is. So, other than a few bumps and scratches, it’s OK.

Boat has NSW rego till February, 2010.

Motor.

The 60 hp Mariner is in good condition. Pushes the boat along at a surprisingly quick pace. Gets on the plane quickly and changes gears correctly. Oil is clear. I recently put in a new impellor. Always flushed after every outing. The engine does not have power tilt and quite honestly, doesn’t really need it. I’m pushing 60 and have no problem lifting it, when necessary. The serial number is… 675 304738…for those who want to know the manufacture date. Around mid 80’s is all I need to know. It’s probably due for a tune, I suppose. I don’t know the compressions, so please don’t ask. The gearbox has the, (all too common), crack along the side. Has been this way for some time without showing any sign of worsening. You see this a lot in Mercury and Mariner gearboxes and I’ve had them a lot worse than this one. Gearboxes are plentiful, cheap and easily repaired. (If this bothers you, don’t bid). As previously stated, the oil is clear.

I only mention this as I want to be completely up-front.

Trailer

The galvanized trailer is in excellent condition with no rust whatsoever. The axle and hubs were recently replaced. The only rust evident is surface rust on some of the bolts and the springs. The trailer is thoroughly washed after every outing. Tyres are excellent and the trailer tows exceptionally well. Has a jockey wheel and a new strap has been fitted to the winch. Launching the boat requires only a gentle push and retrieval is just as easy. The leading rollers centre the boat every time and in even the strongest winds, it’s a one-person operation. The trailer doesn’t tilt and doesn’t need to.

Trailer has NSW registration until 26-12-09.

That’s about it, I guess.

If you’re looking for an honest boat at a reasonable price, that you can use immediately, it may suit. If you’re looking for a package in new condition, best keep looking.

If you would like to view the boat, I’m happy to oblige. I do work however and it would need to be after 5pm or on the weekend. Just email me and we’ll sort something out.

If you have less than 5 positive rating please contact me before bidding. Failure to do so will result in your bid being removed.

As I do not have a paypal a/c this option will not be available. Direct deposit IN FULL, BEFORE pickup please. NO EXCEPTIONS.......... SO PLEASE DON'T ASK.

As usual, you are bidding to buy, not to have a look 2 weeks later.

I am completely honest in my dealings and only ask the same in return. Check my feedback.

On 07-Nov-09 at 17:13:41 AEDST, seller added the following information:

I've found a gearbox and prop I forgot I had that appears to be in OK condition. Can't remember what it's off but it looks to be the same.

I'll throw it in with the sale. Worst comes to worst you'll have a spare prop. at least.

Also found an 12v trailer winch, which I know is in working order. Not really necessary as the manual winch is fine, but I'll throw that in as well.

Cheers.
