The Fleet Air Arm's Daring Attack on the Italian Battle Fleet in its Home Base.

Taranto has been called 'the Trafalgar of the Air'.  And rightly so.  For everything about it had the true Nelson touch.

This is an authentic and exciting account of the knockout blow struck at the Italian navy in Taranto on November 11th, 1940, by Royal Navy planes from the aircraft carrier H.M.S. Illustrious.

Taranto was a supreme justification of the Fleet Air Arm, for this was the first time such a sea attack was wholly made by aircraft.  In this famous action - undoubtedly one of the most important battles of the war - the Italian fleet was knocked out of the struggle.

This 159 page softcover has creases, wear and brown marks to cover.  There are also splits to top and bottom of spine.  Internally there is original owner's details inside first page and browning to pages due to age, but it is otherwise tight and clean.
