The familiar story of Lieutenant Bligh, whose cruelty leads to a mutiny on his ship. This version follows both the efforts of Fletcher Christian to get his men beyond the reach of British retribution, and the epic voyage of Lieutenant Bligh to get his loyalists safely to East Timor in a tiny lifeboat

A wonderfully atmospheric retelling of an old classic with a terrific cast and a haunting soundtrack supplied by Vangelis. If you like costume dramas with weight then you will love this film as it has all the swash without the buckle! Anthony Hopkins gives his usual powerful performance as the baddie-turned-victim and by the end of the film I am sure that like me you will want to see him vindicated. Mel Gibson struggles somewhat in the shadow of Hopkins but gives his all as Fletcher Christian. The atmosphere of the tropical island paradise is brilliantly captured and the scene showing the demise of the ship is, like the music, very haunting. There's no going back now Fletch!!

This is a Region 2 DVD in s cardboard sleave It will not play on older standard Australian DVD players. Most DVD players sold in Australia in the last few years are multi-region. Many people have used their remote control to set their older player to multi-region.

Please contact me if there is a problem. Generally it will be cheaper for me to issue a refund or replacement. This promotional disk is new and in a cardboard sleeve and thus not sealed. Have a considerable quantity in my DVD library. Yet to find one that won't play properly. Sometimes they may have a bit of dust on the surface. Stop play and resume usually fixs the jitters. If not, then a careful clean with a clean soft cloth works fine. Wipe the disc gently in only a radia direction (a straight line between the hub and the rim) using a soft, lint-free cloth. If the disk proves faulty (I visually inspect before posting) contact me for a FULL REFUND or replacement if I have one (your choice). Buy with confidence!

Promotional discs are not free. They have been imported from the UK. They were made available with particular issues of publications or sometime after colecting token sequences and sometimes paying an additional sum of money.
