Historically very important, pre-talkies book covering the development of film; American, British & European film forms; and aims and methods of the cinema. Seriously illustrated with approx. 80 stills from the silent screen.

CONDITION: Contained within an unusual heavily textured fabric cover and with flyleaves almost of a "B&W psychedelic pop-art" nature, the book is still very strong & sturdy. The binding however shows some stress along the edge of the frontspiece. All still intact but some other pages are indicating a slight separation.
