One man's story of the courage that endured defeat and capture at the hands of the Japanese.

Russell Braddon joined the Australian Army in 1941, just in time to sail to Malaya with the ill-fated Australian division.

On his twenty-first birthday he was captured by the Japanese - then followed over three years of captivity.  In Kuala Lumpur, in the infernal Changi gaol in Singapore and in Siam....building the infamous 'railway of death'.

Braddon's story of war at its most horrible is a permanent tribute to the courage and fortitude of British and Australian troops.

This 286 page softcover is illustrated with black and white photographs.  The cover has some edgewear, a corner crease to back cover and a spine crease.  Internally there is very light browning to page edges, but it is otherwise in a very good, tight, clean condition.
