Fully Updated Second Edition.
Formula 1 is automotive technology at its zenith. Each season the designers strive to make their cars even faster and less dependent on a driver's skill, while the FIA governing body introduces rules to restrict the speed and leave the driver in overall control so as to avoid grand prix racing becoming a mere display of technological achievement. But the speeds continue to rise.
The fully updated second edition of this authoritative book, by respected freelance motorsport journalist David Tremayne, explains the technical changes imposed since Alain Prost won the 1993 World Championship in a Williams packed with drivers aids. In frank discussion with team owners, designers and drivers, he charts the developments, the politics and the often contradictory perspectives of the various contenders.
This 220 page hardcover is illustrated with colour and black and white photographs. The dustjacket has a tiny, half cm split to bottom edge of spine, but this book is otherwise in a very good, tight, clean condition inside and out. A great read at a great price!
