With the publication of Communion and Transformation the world was riveted by Whitley Strieber's strange and exciting stories of encounters with alien presences.  And, with Breakthrough Strieber continued the saga, giving readers an up-to-date account of these recurring visitations.  Now, in what might be considered a prequel to all three books - and, in many ways, the conclusion of the journey he began in Communion - Strieber gives us this book, his quest for the meaning of his encounters.

Here, Strieber recounts a childhood summer he spent attending a secret school in the woods near his home in San Antonio.  These midnight forays into the forest, though forgotten for more than forty years, unconsciously prepared him for the encounters he narrated in his previous three books.  Only now has he begun to reconstruct what has remained half-hidden in shadow - that early summer spent in secret adventure, when he learned the nine lessons that changed his life.

This 245 page softcover has a rather tatty cover with creases and a patch of wear to front cover where price sticker has been removed (please see photo).  Internally there is some browning to page edges, but this is still a very good, tight reading copy and an interesting read!
