Ted Whitten was the largest of the larger-than-life characters that have decorated Australian Rules football. Considered by many as the most complete footballer to play the game, he was also a rich mixture of headline grabbing talent - schoolboy prodigy, working-class battler, inspirational leader, knockabout clown, the King of Footscray and all points west who became a football icon for the whole of Victoria.
He starred for Footscray, and was variously captain, coach, selector, mentor to a host of champions, an automatic state selection who later became the voice of Victorian football.
In this book, authorised by the E.J. Whitten Foundation, the story of I.J.'s life and achievement is told, and celebrated by a host of private and media photographs and memorabilia.
This 160 page hardcover is profusely illustrated with colour and black and white photographs and is new, and as such is in an excellent, tight, clean, unread condition. A great opportunity to pick up a copy for a very reasonable price!
