RICHMOND BRIDGE&ST JOHNS CHURCH, RICHMOND TASMANIA

The foundation stone for the Richmond bridge was laid 1823 and the bridge opened for trafic in 1925.

Convicts built the bridge from stoane quarried at Butchers Hill and pushed to the site on handcrarts.

ST JOHNS CHURCH, Richmond, Tasmania, is the oldest existing catholic church in Australia.

Work began in 1836 and the doors opened on the 31st DEC 1937
