Practically all writing are in Japanese. Played a couple of times. The vinyl and 2 inserts are contained in a box. The playing surfaces and inserts are in NEAR MINT condition. The front of the box has a small mark from removal of a sticker; box shows sign of aging, otherwise in VERY GOOD+ condition. The vinyl has been vacuum cleaned and contained in anti-static record sleeve.
For further details, see “Background”, “Grading”, and “Guarantee”.
NOTE: The box counts as 3 LPs for the purposes of packaging and postage.
NOTE: PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT VINYL(S) WILL NOT BE DESPATCHED UNLESS THE CORRECT SHIPPING, PACKAGING AND HANDLING COST ARE PAID. E-MAIL ME IF YOU NEED CLARIFICATION.
BACKGROUND:
Now that I have sold my Linn LP12/Ittok/Sumiko turntable system and VPI 16.5 Record Cleaning Machine, I have no good reason to keep my estimated 2,500 12” 33 RPM vinyls. They will be auctioned through ebay over the next 9 to 12 months starting from June 2008.
The vinyls are collected over a 20-year period, during the 70s and 80s. They are primarily music of the 60s, 70s and 80s and to some extent 50s as well. There are practically no music/vinyls of the 90s and 2000s in the collection. In respect of genre, the vinyls are primarily pop and rock (est. 700); country/country-rock (250); classical (200); soul/RnB (200); jazz (200); folk/folk-rock (200); instrumental - string, piano, brass (150); orchestral music/easy listening (150); blues/blues-rock (100); soundtrack (100); Latin (100) and others – world music, opera, vocals, swing, ambient, crooner, etc (150).
The overwhelming majority (95%) of the vinyls are bought new and only an estimated 120 are bought second hand. These will be specified in the “Description”. Approximately 300, primarily classical and opera (Decca and associated labels), have never been played before (I found out too late I was never interested in classical or opera after buying a collection of these vinyls!). Of those played before, an overwhelming majority have been played only once or twice, primarily for recording purposes. Similar to the reason for selling my turntable system and VPI Record Cleaning Machine, I am selling these vinyls as I have completed the conversion, of selected vinyls and tracks that I enjoyed, into digital.
To protect the vinyls, and more importantly the cartridge, I never played my vinyls without vacuum cleaning them first through the VPI Record Cleaning Machine. The cartridge is given a LAST stylus treatment after each side of play. Vinyls that I valued, which are the majority, are then placed in Nagaoka Anti-Static Record sleeve to prevent static built-up. Any unique inner sleeves, information sheets, etc are retained within the cover.
GRADING:
Under the US Goldmine grading system, the playing surface of vinyls purchased new (95% of the collection) are graded NM- (near mint minus) or better grades. However, covers or outer sleeves are generally graded one grade lower than the playing surface. Variation to this grading for any particular vinyls will be highlighted in the “Description” above.
I will be conservative in my grading.
GUARANTEE:
With the exception of the 120 or vinyls which were purchased second hand, or any defects that are mentioned in the “Description”, I am glad to offer an absolute guarantee, without any reservation, for a full refund, should you find any scratches, unplayable track or background noise which interfere with your listening pleasure, provided the item is returned in its original condition within 14 days from the date of posting by the seller. Please advise seller first before return of the item.
NOTE: PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT VINYL(S) WILL NOT BE DESPATCHED UNLESS THE CORRECT SHIPPING, PACKAGING AND HANDLING COST ARE PAID. E-MAIL ME IF YOU NEED CLARIFICATION.
