It features the show's original Japanese language version with newly commissioned remastered English dubbing and subtitles, new artwork and a special collector's booklet on The Takara Collection.

This DVD series takes place after the final season of the Transformers of the 1980s. It introduces the new generation of Autobots and retires the old generation. Lots of dramatic changes happen, like the death of Optimus and Ultra Magnus, Galvatron leadership rival, the complete explosion of Cybertron and so on. This series finally completes the old Transformers generation.
