 Item Description

Here we are, looking at the most sought after character for years by many Transformers fans both young and old, one of the most identified and beloved characters in all of Transformers love -- SOUNDWAVE.

The original Soundwave figure was released back in 1984 and ran in production up to about 1986. In Japan, Takara re-released Soundwave again only this time he was black with a red chest that had double the storage capacity and renamed him "Soundblaster". When Takara announced their re-release of Soundwave, fans asked Hasbro to release him state-side, but due to the cost (Soundwave cost or more from Takara) of production, he couldn't be released in the United States for anything cheaper than , and Hasbro refused to committ.

This figure, part of the beloved TRANSFORMERS CLASSICS line, is actually an interesting variation. He is colored like Soundwave, but his mold is actually that of Takara's Soundblaster, due to the extended tape deck to hold two cassettes at once as opposed to one.

So how does it tranform?

You fold the arms back, fold the legs up, put the head down, turn his cannon and his shoulder cannon into batteries by placing them in his back ... and that's Soundwave! Open up the tapedeck and place your two cassettes inside ... and walla, you're done. It's your standard Generation 1 figure, simple to transform yet so much fun and it feels so realistic in your hands, like it's a real tapedeck.

The bonus is that it comes with Lazerbeak (red bird) and Battle Ravage (panther), two cassettes that transform in to animals and were cult-favorites along with Soundwave, because they all go together. These characters were also heavily centralized on both the cartoon and in the Marvel US comic run of the series in the late 80's and early 90's.

Condition of Item

95% new! Only lightly used, always keeped it in robot mode placed in a glass display shelf, only transformed a few times in its life.

The toy are in EXCELLENT condition, no loose joint, no paint problem or damage and no missing parts. The box has no damage, almost new condition.
