Written for Queensland's centenary year, 1959, "Triumph in the Tropics", by Sir Raphael Cilento and Clem Lack, tracks the development of the state from 1770. The book looks at industry, agriculture, migration to Queensland, the Aborigines and contains photos and local history about various regions of the state, including Brisbane. The book, which is over 450 pages long, contains many black and white plates as well as an index. This copy retains its dust jacket, which apart from a few small tears, remains in good order. The book was once covered in plastic, and there are some small spots of tape residue as well as a couple of ink stamps. Otherwise, the binding is tight and apart from some foxing on the edges of the paper, the book is in good order. |
