First broadcast in 1983 under the title Killer, it paved the way for a generation of detective series and became Taggart in 1985. Action packed, pacey, slick, edgy and sinister, Taggart continues to evolve in style and content. The Maryhill CID investigates gruesome murders against the bleak backdrop of the city of Glasgow. Starring Mark McManus as Glaswegian detective Jim Taggart, and his side kick Peter Livingstone played by Neil Duncan.

This DVD features the first 4 Episodes on a 3DVD set with a bonus 50 minute documentary "There's Been A Murder - A Celebration of 20 Years of Taggart." This documentary celebrates the outstanding success of Taggart, now the longest running police drama on UK TV. It features interviews with original Producer & Writer, the previous and current cast including John Hannah, Alan Cumming and Billy Boyd, plus a galaxy of clips showing us all the action from the last two decades.
