 This was part of a series of very original, verrrry expensive canvases, 

designed and screen printed in France,

 on 100% polyester mono canvas

They sold from $40- $120

If you have ever worked 100% cotton long stitch canvas, with their hard to see

outlines and  very rough fibres, you will appreciate the quality of these.

  The threads are thicker than the cotton variety and  

are exceptionally smooth and soft to stitch.

You can use wool, cotton and  other shiny threads without them being

 ruined on the rough strands. 

DMC Pearle No 5 is excellent for this canvas.

 As the designs are very 'Art Nouveau' they will suit many modern décors

with lots of glass, tiles, and wrought iron settings that favour a Mediterranean look.
