Australia Tasmania TAS (Great Britain colony in Australia). The stamp has a FANTASTIC cancellation - 'COLONIAL TREASURY' - with a clear date - which is quite interesting in itself. The left side of the stamp appears to have an uncommon separation pattern - it isn't an imperf cut and appears to be a widely spaced roulette - I'm unsure and don't whether it is simply wear ot not and leave this to those with better experience and eyes than mine - I know there are some very unique perfs and roulettes used in Tasmania on these stamps. At the very least I can say that the 'colonial treasury' cancelation alone is quite interesting and a useful addition to any collection. |
