Teeny Weeny Creations presents~Sumia~reborn baby doll

   Paint ~ I only use Genesis heat set paints and am constantly aiming to replicate the complexion of a real newborn baby. I  spend long days to produce this realism right down to the finest details. Sumia has a realistic ethnic skin tone of a newly born ethnic baby. Rachael's skin has been sealed twice with a satin finish to highlight her ethnic skin tone.

Body ~ I aim to replicate the body weight of a baby so you will need to support her head as you would a real newborn. A doe suede body has been filled with some large body pellets and smaller glass beads (sealed within a bag), as well as polyfiber fill. All limbs are sealed to prevent loss of fine glass beads.  I proposelly have not overstuffed Sumia's body so that you can pose her in a more natural baby position.

Hair ~ Sumia's hair has been first hand painted at the hair line, then sparcely hand rooted. Imported Canadian Mohair (so baby soft)has been carefully rooted to look natural, including a crown. This has been sealed on the inside so you can carefully style her hair and to minimize hair loss.

Lips and nail beds, have been sealed to give a natural, realistic look. I love to take special attention to hands and feet to replicate a realistic ethnic look with a paler skin colour to palms and the soles of Sumia's feet.

I choose not to glue eyelashes to Sumia's eyes. Her lovely eyelashes have been hand rooted with the same hair as for her head, to give Sumia a more natural look.

Clothes ~ I have handmade this beautiful smocked dress and hand embriodered her bonnet and bootees. The clothes and accessories in the last photo are those included in this sale, as well as a laminated birth certificate and care instructions. Sumia's dummy is magnetised so precautions should be made around people with pacemakers. 

The Artist ~ I have been reborning nearly 4 years now, after painting porcelain dolls for 8 years. I work in special care nurseries and babies wards, in which I have the opportunity to study the delicate, beautiful features of the newborn.
