Back in the 1950's very few television networks preserved their live programming. Even when it featured major talent or won awards. While some shows were preserved at the request of the cast, and occasionally the networks themselves kept copies of major programs, but a lot of shows were just thrown away. Some were transcribed onto film by photgrpahing the image from a TV picture tube.

Recently we acquired from an estate some rare Kinescope Recordings of early TV shows . Here is one of them for your pleasure.

The Arthur Murray Party was a television variety show which ran from 1950 until 1960. This particular episode appears to be made some time in 1959 or 1960. This was aired by NBC .

This print contains Title, Credits, Commercial Plug, and NBC logo and Gong.
