I produced this original acrylic painting during my years as a professional artist about 8 years ago.

Since the last few years I have been heavily involved in supplying the railway modellers with my unique handcrafted Australian models in many scales and the painting of my art works has somehow been placed on the back burner. There simply is never enough time to pursue all my hobbies.

During the time as an artist I created several thousand works which are all over the globe in private collections.

I am still in possession of a few favourite ones and will list some from time to time as it is not possible to have them all on display in my small residence. Hopefully this will give someone the opportunity to acquire something which will also bring them joy. As there seem to be not many traditional realistic works on the market , where one can relate to nature, this is the perfect opportunity for you to have such an item.

All my works have always achieved stunning comments so I feel confident the buyer will get pleasure from the artwork for many years to come.

About the painting: 

It is a highly detailed under water scene of a typical coral outcrop as a diver would see it whilst doing under water photography.

It has taken me about 3 months, plus, to achieve an almost 3 D effect on the finished work so when looking into this you will feel like you are right there amongst it.

This art work was painted with high quality Atelier Acrylic Paints on fully sealed , primed and Gessoed 6 mm MDF board. I have used this method for many years and have found this was the best way to protect the painting from climatic conditions no matter whether you are living, be it in a dry or wet climate. The surface of the painting is fully sealed and can be easily kept clean using a damp cloth if needed.

The art work is fully framed as per photos.

Measurements are: Unframed-150 cm by 100 cm

Framed 162 cm by 112 cm

About the artist:      

                            Andrew Weisse

　　　　　　 Born in July 1949 near Leipzig in the then eastern sector of Germany , moved with his parents and brother just days before the Iron Curtain was shut to West Germany. He spent the years until the age of 16 successfully completing high school education passing with honours in all art related subjects.

In 1966 Andrews parents decided to make a new life for their family and migrated to Geelong, Victoria in Australia.

The complete change of lifestyle, the immense amount of hard work to become established again and the lack of spare time has not been able to deter him from pursuing his ambitions to master his natural talent. In 1968 the quality of his workmanship won him a scholarship with an Art Institute but tough times in those early years prevented him from completing the studies.

Undeterred by this, Andrew who is basically a self taught artist, a quiet achiever, pursued his drive for many years to bring joy through his art to many who still treasure his fine works in their collections. During his time in Victoria he participated in art shows and exhibitions with great success. Throughout his entire arts career many of his paintings have received honours or taken out awards too numerous to mention. He still supports, time permitting , art shows, exhibitions and other fundraising events and all appreciate the presence of his works.

1992 became a major turning point in his life as he turned his dream into reality. He now resides in Queensland's beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland, living his lifetime ambition of being a full time artist. Andrews artworks are now represented in many collections around Australia, the USA, Canada, New Zealand and all over the European Continent. Some of his works are on display from time to time in Fine Art Galleries.

As an artist, Andrew has also had the opportunity to work in and run his temporary Gallery Studio situated in the well known Wharf Complex of Underwater World Sunshine Coast.

Here the "Artist in Action" has always been a huge success for tourists and locals alike as he was painting, on site, some of those beautiful large Rainforest Scenes so familiar to the area in which he now resides. One of his larger creations was a commissioned four piece artwork, titled "Underwater World" with dimensions 4.5 by 1.8 meters which is now proudly displayed in the Oceanarium.
