The Glenfiddich 50-year-old is a most rare and magnificent Pure Malt Whisky. Only 500 bottles exist in the world today.

Glenfiddich is the only Highland malt whisky to be bottled at its own distillery using a single source of spring water. Not a drop of Glenfiddich leaves the distillery until it is sealed in its bottle ready to be drunk and enjoyed.

'Glenfiddich' in Gaelic, the ancient language of Scotland, literally means "Valley of the Deer. 'Glen' is a Scottish valley and 'fiddich' means deer.

The single source of pure spring water used in making Glenfiddich - the Black Robert spring, gives the whisky a distinctive purity of taste. A century ago, the Grant family purchased a thousand acres of surrounding hillside to protect this precious spring and the purity of the Glenfiddich taste.

Glenfiddich Pure Malt was first distilled on Christmas Day in 1887 by William Grant and his seven sons. Together, they built the distillery by hand with the help of a single stonemason. Today the same family still own and manage the Glenfiddich Distillery.

The traditional methods of whisky making live on at Glenfiddich today. Few distilleries have their own cooperage to build and maintain their casks, fewer have coppersmiths to tend their stills and fewer still have their own floor maltings for the germinating barley. All these traditions live on at the Glenfiddich Distillery.

Every bottle is personally signed by Alexander Grant Gordon, Chairman and great grandson of the Company's founder.
