The Louis XIV Chess set is a very fine chess set

based on the King Louis XIV reign

 

The King and Queen are based on carvings of the baroque style of the period.

 The King, Queen, Bishop and Pawn are unusual in so far as they all seated on matching pinths.

 The Knight is a horses body rising from the pinth and the Rook is a matching castellated tower with drape.

 

 The set is made from hydrostone with one side being antique gold metallic finish and other side antique copper metallic finish.

 

The sizes of the pieces are:

The King 13cm,

The Queen 12.5cm

Bishop 12.5cm

Knight 12cm

Rook 9cm

The Pawn 8.5cm
