 This item is a hard back book with non clipped dustwrapper entitled "Battersea Works 1856-1956: The Morgan Crucible Company Limited|",by Richard Bennett and  published by the Company in 1956. The book contains 68 pages of text, map, colour plates and B/W photos and illustrations.
This book was published to commemorate the Centenary of this Company, which started life in 1856 in a small factory situated in a secluded spot of the then rural Battersea, and produced, in a small way, ornamental pottery and a few blacklead crucibles for the jewellery trade. This is the story of the company over the next 100 years.
There is some wear, creasing and grubbiness to the dustwrapper  There are a few small stains to the green fabric covered hard covers, which have the title etc embossed in gold on the front cover and the spine. Otherwise the book is sound and in very good condition.
