Story of the discovery by Charles Dawson in 1912 of the skull of a creature halfway across the evolutionary bridge from our apish ancestors to modern man.  41 years later modern research revealed the skull was a forgery.  Ronald Millar traces the background to the scandal and argues that Dawson was innocent and puts forwar d is own surprising candidate for infamy.
