The Tall Man From the Sea by R B Maddock (this hardcover 1st edition was printed in 1962 by Thomas Nelson and Sons Ltd) - other sites have this edition listed for over $17!

Item Description: Overall this book is in very good condition. The dust jacket has some wear to the front at the top and the bottom as can be seen in the picture. The spine has a small rip at the bottom and at the top. The back of the dust jacket has wear at the top and bottom as well as a tiny amount of grazing. The front jacket flap is clipped at the bottom. The book itself has a red cover with black text on front and on spine with decorative top and bottom borders for the spine. The inside front cover has a small bookstore sticker. The pages are slightly yellowed and are very thick. There are three black and white illustrations in the book.

It looked as though there were going to be trouble when Roger and Phil arrived to camp in the little Cornish cove where Jack Byfield had already established himself. But this problem was happily overcome: the trouble cam instead from the cliff-fall that destroyed the only path to or from the cove, and from the arrival of the mysterious tall man who was cast so strangely and unexpectedly among them.
