Pulse dialing is used if you have a rotary phone (an older dial wheel style of phone). If you have a rotary phone (here is not included), your dial modifier will automatically set your dialing method to pulse when you're setting up your connection. Tone dialing is used if you have a touch tone phone (here is not included). Tone dialing is a more reliable and faster way of connecting to the Internet, but both will work.
