Towle OLD ENGLISH (1892) SS CHOW CHOW Fork - May

This auction is for an extremely fine and antique (ca.1894) solid Sterling silver chow chow fork by Towle in in their early and highly collectible OLD ENGLISH pattern of 1892. Fork measures 6 1/8" long and is finely crafted from medium gauge Sterling silver (weight on my postal scales 5/8 ounce of the precious alloy). Back of handle is marked with manufacturer's trademark + Sterling + Pat 1892. Found in very good antique condition. Sports the period engravings of the name May (front of handle) and the date Sept. '94 (back of handle). Shows no areas of unsightly damage or repairs. Just very light surface scratches and tarnish commensurate with age and gentle use (please note gilded tine section shows mayor wear to gilding). Similar forks retail for $105.00+ when found in other venues and is being offered for a low opening bid and no reserve. Thank you.
