You are bidding on a 1979 Toyota Hiace Camper Van. It has the 4 cyl 18R engine and 4 speed manual transmission. I have just traded it and am selling it as traded without roadworthy or registration. It has been owned by 1 elderly couple since new, they have had many happy years of reliable travel with it. They certainly speak highly of it's reliabililty and told me they would happily jump in it today and travel around Australia in it. That's how confident they are about it. It comes with a full service history and receipts from the past 30 years. There is too much stuff to mention but some of the major items done recently include a reco cylinder head and new starter motor done 7,000 km's ago. Gearbox has been replaced and clutch done 20,000 km's ago.

About the Camper:

Poptop camper, canvas is all the orignal and is still in good condition for it's age

Stuff that I know needs doing:

There is rust in both rear panels and around the tail lights (refer pics)

Exhaust leak from manifold (just a gasket that needs replacing)  

Overall I would say that it needs some loving to tidy a few of these things up, then you will have a good, cheap, reliable van ready for your trip. Inspections are welcome and recomended. Bring your Mechanic or Panel Beater to inspect BEFORE place a bid. It can be inspected in Moorabbin Mon- Friday or in Mt. Eliza on the W/end. Remember you are bidding to buy, not to come and inspect.
