Toyota Mark II Grande 1982 Beige Met DISM 1:43 #7551

This is a new release collectors model in 1:43 scale by Aoshima of Japan in their DISM series, brand new in original packaging, Aoshima item number AD 75517.

The Toyota Mark II originated in the late sixties as an upmarket version of the Corona.  In the seventies it was also called the Cressida and has eventually developed to form the basis for many of the Lexus models.  Its popularity peaked in the eighties when it was the car for up and coming Japanese executives to drive.  It had many luxury feautures and was available with engines ranging from a 1.8 litre four to a turbocharged 2.5 litre than produced around 280 bhp.  This is the top of the range Grande model from 1982 which featured the 2.0 litre 24 valve inline six with 160 bhp.

This model features accurate cast alloy wheels with correct profile tyres. The body is very nicely proportioned and depicts the original car very accurately with accurate colour scheme and all correct markings and decals. Other features include windscreen wipers, rear view mirrors plus all the correct badges, vents and grilles. Underbody detail includes suspension and transmission details and exhaust system.

The model also features a second set of billet style wheels and low profile tyres which can be fitted if so required.  Suspension is also adjustable for height so the model can be made "VIP" style.

The interior is also very well done, with steering wheel, detailed dashboard and instrument panel with all controls and other features shown, centre console with gearshift lever, rear view mirror, properly contoured and coloured seats and full detailed door trims with all handles and armrests.

The model comes mounted on a black plastic plinth with clear plastic display box and outer cardboard window box.

Aoshima models are amongst the finest 1:43 scale models of their type available. Detail and finish are absolutely top class and second to none in this price range. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging.

Aoshima is a Japanese company mainly known for its range of plastic construction kits. However they do also produce a small range of diecast scale models in 1:43 scale. They are made in China and sold almost exclusively to the Japanese market, therefore are difficult to source elsewhere. All items are well researched and produced with meticulous attention to detail a high level of finish and detailing.

These models collectors items and are not toys. They are made in diecast metal with many other materials included for detailing.
