A wonderfully showy and tall species growing to a gargantuan 70cm ( over 2' ) high.  Large flowers with inflated perianth tubes and flaring petal tips. Colour ranges from white to palest blue to a very intense deep violet .

T Grandiflora is a high altitude plant from northern California to British Columbia withstanding Winter temperatures as low as -25oC in its natural habitat. Definately not a plant for the tropics and due to its geographical distribution will require a little coaxing from cold stratification to improve germination. 

A definate collectors gem , virtually unheard of in the southern hemisphere and well worth any effort in its procurement and cultivation.

 Bulbs generally reach flowering potential by the  4th season.
