Easy to use, just dip into the solution and you get a reading on how much dissolved nutrient salts are in the water.

The CF (Conductivity Factor) Scale is the most popular in Australia.

EC (Electro-Conductivity) is the same as CF but you move the decimal point.

1.0EC = 10CF

Parts per million is popular in USA but is only an approximation of the nutrient conductivity.

The CF truncheon has two Parts per million Scales

The ppm to EC ratio is described as either 700 ppm = 1EC or 500ppm = 1EC.

Why the difference? Because every mineral used in Hydroponics has a different atomic weight, and one part in a million will have a different conductivity. When you mix several minerals together, we can test the conductivity, but the parts per million is only an approximation. Generally, I think 1EC is 650ppm, but if you are reading a book from USA, you need to work out what they are talking about. Best advice is to use CF or EC which is what the meter reads... i.e. this is a conductivity meter, and CF is conductivity factor, and EC means electro-conductivity.

The probe is high quality, and is still the same probe that I trusted 15 years ago.

there is 2 electrodes and the measurement of the electrical current between each is how a test is made.

If the meter is close to the same temperature as the solution you can take an immediate test.

So this would be step one if you skip temperature comensation.

A quick rinse is a great idea, but don't panic.

I use Plain Jiff abrasive cleanser on the probe every couple of months, because I test so often.

Don't use the Lemon scented Jiff as the oils in it can make the meter read incorrectly.

5 year Guarentee is unbelievable. But I have some of these testers older than 5 years, still going strong.

I recommend these testers for commercial and hobby hydroponics gardening.

I have a retail shop on the Gold Coast, in Queensland Australia. My Hobbies are my family, my dog, racing my Formula Vee, and playing music on guitar or keyboard. What kind of backup service do you provide?
I have been in Mail Order for 15 years, and during that time, I have had a lot of happy customers. I have had occasional problems, but to keep a customer coming back, and recommending me, I will go out of my way to help fix any problem. Conditions of Sale

- Please email me and tell me if you are not paying by Paypal, so I know to look for a bank deposit, or wait for a money order.  
- After you have won, if there is an option of different postage costs and you are not sure how much to pay. Just email me with the delivery address and I can reply with the correct amount  
- Winning bidder must make payment as soon as possible, and advise me that this has been done
- If payment has not been made within 14 days and buyer has not contacted me, Ebay will become involved and negative feedback may be left. (This is fairly reasonable)

Damage in Transit
- I have had nothing damaged in last 12 months of mail order business - but it has happened to my parcels about 4 times in the 15 years in business so less than 1%
- While all care is taken, I will not be held liable for any damage in transit and as such I offer the option of the winning bidder paying for insurance with Australia Post or Freight Company involved

Problem or dispute
- If any problems arise, the buyer will contact me and give me a chance to help. I can fix any problems.
- Buyer will give us the chance to respond BEFORE leaving negative feedback.

Warranties
- Manufacturers Warranty is valid not including transportation to Gold Coast and return.
- Boats not valid against damage from falling off cars, collisions with ocean liners, asteroids etc. (e.g. "charter boat...what charter boat...." RACQ advert)

Pickups
- Pick ups are available from my shop on the Gold Coast
- No charge unless special packaging required to load into your vehicle
- If you have your own freight service, that's fine, just make sure to call me on 0402 86 49 86 to check that they pickup here, if I need anything specific like courier labels, what packaging might be required (perhaps a couple of dollars of packing e.g. $30 of bubble wrap goes onto a boat before I send it.)

Shipping and Handling

- The item is in stock and either here at the shop or set aside at the distributors premises.
