Turner 4-1/2 Smoothing Plane. Turner were a quality Australian Made Handplane line – also made a range of other tools and cabinetry fittings. Turner were eventually bought out by Stanley, and the Turner name was dropped not long after. Turner invented the red acetate handles which were virtually unbreakable, and a great substitute for the wooden handles of the time. Observe the cutter – it is marked Turner over Eric Anton Berg, Eskiltuna Sweden, and the outline of a shark – quality cutter – almost worth the opening price on its own.
