2 Alfred Meakin Dinner Plates

These pretty Alfred Meakin Dinner Plates in the pretty Raymond design, have been kept in a china cabinet for a long time. They are decorated with sunny orange and yellow flowers and have a gold-coloured trim. The trim is worn and each plate has a small chip (please see picture close-up , no.2). However, there are no other chips, crazing or any other signs of age or damage that I can see.

They measure approximately 25cms in diameter and have a disctinct rim, with a nice deep base. The design is repeated four times around the edge, but not continuously. This makes the plates appear slightly rectangular in shape from a distance, but they are actually circular.

May appeal to anyone collecting Alfred Meakin Ware.

The potters marks unerneath have the same writing, but slightly different stamps and only one is marked with "Raymond", indicating they may have come from different sets. Otherwise the plates appear identical in design.
