From collectibles to electronics, buy and sell all kinds of items on eBay StoresUSS GRAND FORKS PF-11 USN Patrol Frigate naval cover postmarked from Grand Forks, North Dakota on January 4, 2007. Blue color printed photo of the actual ship on cachet #2823 by Alvin Eckert #9964, USCS. This Tacoma Class patrol frigate served in World War II with a US Coast Guard crew of 190 men. Cover franked with a 37 cent World War II Memorial stamp ( Sc# 3862 ). The vessel served as a plane guard station ship off San Francisco even after WW II ended. She rescued 15 persons from a downed PBY on 11 October 1944 . The proud vessel was decommissioned on 16 May 1946 and sold for scrap metal. The seller has naval covers for all the WW II Patrol Frigates. Check out my other items!
