This is a no-reserve auction for a 1985 vintage Uniden Bearcat 800 XLT 40 channel programmable scanner.

This scanner covers 29-54, 118-135, 136-174, 405-512 and 800-912 MHz . It has both original antennas and has a motorola (automobile-style) jack on the back for an external antenna. It runs on AC line current or with a 12V DC supply through a jack on the back. There is also a jack for an external speaker.

The unit is in good working condition and seems to have good sensitivity. Using the built-in antennas, I was able to pull in 3 weather stations, some 2m amateur repeaters and some public service and aircraft signals in just a few minutes of searching. The volume was good and the squelch worked as it should. The case is in good condition. I show the grill close-up so that you can see that a few of the grill holes have lost their black overcoat - exposing the aluminum. The display has some fading in the center digits. It is perfectly readable in normal light. But it's not full brightness.
