This Soffiati Panel vase is so typical of the design and artistic techniques that took VENINI to the top of their game in the early to mid 1920s. 

Vittorio Zecchin was a Painter, Designer and Deocrator.  The son of a Glassmaster from Murano he graduated from the Academia De Venezia.  From 1921 to 1925 he was artistic Director of Vetri Soffiati Muranese Cappelin Venini where he created lightweight glass pieces classically inspired and delicately coloured which reaped immediate success both at home and abroad.  His classicly seemless lines and delicate constuction of each piece he created bare true testament to the skills passed on by his Father and those which he retained for life.

This vase consists of multiple panels delicately fused together then stretched to culminate at the flaring vase Rim. Just beneath the rim, each panel has been pinched to create an every so delicate indent.  This vase is in SUPERB condition with a polished circular pontil with the base exhibiting typical signs of age and wear as you would look for in any piece of glass to indicate its vintage.
