This superb tinted woodblock engraving features five of Victoria’s “model schools”. The Government schools, Carlton, Beechworth, Ballarat, Hawthorn and Brunswick were showplaces in the Victorian Schools system. Their construction was a direct result of the wealth injected into the young colony following the Ballarat and Bendigo gold rushes.

Commissioned for Victoria In 1880 Illustrated for the 1880 Melbourne International Exhibition.

Mounted size: 42 cm x 40 cm.

Double mounted in museum quality mount boards of gold and sand and complimented with double v-groove.
