VINTAGE DARK OAK MINIATURE GRANDFATHER MANTLE CLOCK
VINTAGE DARK OAK MINIATURE GRANDFATHER MANTLE CLOCK
Not every home has the room for a full size Grandfather clock, but with this lovely miniature, there is no reason to miss out on their wonderful charm.
The case is beautifully proportioned. Made of solid, deep dark oak. From its "squashed bun" feet, through its slender waist, to its carved and shaped "hood", it looks every inch of its bigger brothers. Please make use of the enlarge feature to see just how good it looks.
The dial is silvered, with Arabic numerals and is in good condition, sitting behind its convexed glass. The chromed bezel has a few marks of tarnish, but looks in keeping with the clock. It is wound from the rear via the fixed key. It is in full working order, keeping good time.
The clock stands 15 inches high, 6 inches wide and just 3 inches deep. To the rear is a makers label stating "X.L, British Manufacture". Alas, I know nothing of the maker, but I'm guessing it would date from 1940s 50s.
A handsome addition to any home or collection. Small in size, but Grand in charm.
