This auction is for one VINTAGE HAND STITCHED - SMALL OVAL DOILY featuring a SLEEPING MEXICAN MAN and PALM TREE - a MEXICAN SIESTA design.

The cloth is in very good vintage condition.

I do not know the age of this item, but it is definitely quite an old style doily.

The fabric colour is light ecru, not white. It's clean and no holes.

I'm not certain of the fabric - I think it's linen, but it may be cotton.

Simply terrific!

The outside edge has a crocheted lace border in a beige colour. The design is stitched in mixed colours - Green, Brown, Orange, Red and Blue

This doily is a small oval size - It measures 22.5cm wide x 19cm high (including the crochet edging).

If you collect pretty vintage embroidered doilies or Mexican designs in particular, you might like this one. It really is very nice and sure to brighten any table!
