I am putting up for a auction a fabulous Josephine Baker bangle. It has Josephine in dancing mode with her kicking her legs up high with her famous banana skirt. She is topless but has a necklace on and bangles. She is painted on and it feels handpainted. She is represented in a cartouche on the one half of the bangle and on either side of her at the top and the bottom is decoration with diamante. The bangle is in a coral colour with the cartouche in a yellow colour. Josephine Baker collection. I have sold most of my bakelite collection and bought signed 1950's and 1960's necklaces. This bangle would make a wonderful addition to a Josephine Baker, Jazz Age or Art Deco collection or even a figural pin collection. It is in excellent condition with no chips, and the paintwork is in perfect condition - no flaking or peeling.
I do not know if the material is bakelite or not but its a really fabulous bangle. I am selling its partner which is in a different colour as well.
Size: It is 7.8 inches if I measure around the circumference of the bangle.
