This is a very sweet japanese kokeshi doll. It is wooden and has handpainted or perhaps penned features and clothing.Each feature is a very fine line and every little hair is a single line.She was bought in Japan.Kokeshi are very popular souvenir dolls.He/she is dressed in blue with a black and gold painted obi.She is a vintage piece and as such is a one off piece which is quite unique - not like the modern versions.She stands 9.5cm(3.75")tall. There is a smal drill hole on the head which would have been made as the wood was turned I expect.She would be a fabulous addition to any doll collection.A lovely piece of Japanese handcraft.Thanks for looking and happy bidding.
