COLLECTORS LITTLE GEM - ALL FUNCTIONS TESTED TODAY AND IN PERFECT WORKING CONDITION PRIOR TO LISTING.VERY CLEAN WELL LOOKED AFTER ABSOLUTE BEAUTY FOR ITS AGE (OR ANY AGE) - WORKS AS GOOD AS NEW WITHOUT ANY NOISY SCRATCHING SOUNDING STATIC THROUGH ANY KNOB,SWITCH,DIAL OR BUTTON ADJUSTMENTS. Cosmetically very good condition overall-if to be picky maybe you can see a few very very fine scratches around the tone control & headphone area on the face plate & only if you get into a certain good light angle you will notice them. FANTASTIC LOOKING LIGHT AMBER LIT UP CHANNELL DIAL & SIGNAL STRENGTH METER DISPLAY !!!. - Meter & dial & all all lights works perfect !

THE FACTS:

VINTAGE 1976 RARE SONY STR-1800 "4 BAND VERSION" SHORTWAVE RECEIVER SW1, SW2, FM STEREO & MW  (Mostly came available as FM & MW only!) - All bands tested & work with only speaker wire as reception leads off the back terminals in my area. FM Stereo (working red light lit) in particular seems to tune in exceptionally easy & clear with heaps of drifting in & out tollerence if you go to far iether way of the number & seems to pickup far more FM channels than any other radio in my house especially the long distant one's clearer(& just off short speaker lead only used for an aerial !).Get quite a bit of SW2 on this little gem even at daytime in my area but the SW1 seems to only pickup a few & not as clear probably because of my bushy hilly area & by only using speaker wire dangled loosly off the back terminals instead of an external or significant proper aerial. MW works well but as per the norm as most people go for the much clearer newer more widely used FM Stereo.

Power: 2x 18 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms (Adequate but by no means meant as a loud amp!)  - Has 3 pin power lead ready to go.

By the way i have a vintage sony turntable working off this amp beautifully without any hum static that you get off the nasty non-specialized latest amps (Turntable not supplied with this sale)

Also tested Tape Recorders & CD Players through this receiver with great results - all worked well ! 

Good seperate bass & treble tone adjustment with seperate loudness button for that deeper bass.
