NAPIER
The company began operations in 1875 in Attleboro, Massachusetts USA, making silver products; it was then called "Whitney and Rice." When the company was sold in 1882, it was renamed "Carpenter and Bliss," and soon after, "E. A. Bliss and Co., Inc." In 1890, the company moved operations to Meriden, Connecticut. When James H. Napier was president of the company, the company name was changed to "Napier-Bliss." (Napier headed the company until 1960.) For a short time Napier produced 14K and diamond chip jewellery in very small quantities. Usually fine and small pieces. In 1922, the name was again changed, this time to "Napier." The Napier brand is no longer manufactured).

Circa 1940's Vintage USA Designer unsigned NAPIER, no longer manufactured. A work of vintage art! AND highly collectible worldwide. l recently sold a pair of matching earrings which were signed Napier.Pat Pend and this huge brooch is a perfect match. In high gloss mirror finish bright silver (may be sterling) it has an Art Deco overlaid 3 leaf design with incredible! realism in the veining on the leaves. Then there are masses of silver balls to represent berries. The top lot are not fixed and move about beautifully for a trembler (moving) effect when worn. It weighs in at a substantial 30grams and measures laid flat a huge 7cms x 6.5cms (2 3/4" x 2 1/2" inches). Finished on the rear with safety brooch closure and is in excellent to mint vintage condition. Gorgeous! Good luck.
