We bought an old printers set of drawers from a retired printer for the type it contained and are replacing a few of the shelves with flat trays for embossing plates. Although old, the trays are in excellent condition and have obviously been treated with great care . The only part ever painted was the front of the tray and it is a light coat that can be scratched of, so will be easily sanded. This was probably done so that the different trays could be easily seen as it was in a 24 drawer unit.
