VOLKSWAGEN KOMBI AUXILIARY PETROL HEATER

To suit early 12 volt Kombis

I bought this heater back in the 70's, when I was a very keen Kombi bloke, with every intention of installing it in my 1963 12 volt conversion Kombi, but the family grew and the old Kombi was our constant people mover, a term we hadn't heard of back then and the heater stayed in the garage gathering dust.

I never did get to install it!

The children are all grown now and the wonderful old Kombi is just a memorable piece of history.

Thus, the heater stayed with us and has been languishing in the garage for all these years, but I figured  that there must be a confirmed Kombi addict out there somewhere who'd appreciate a bit of extra heat in the middle of next winter.

It installs on the passenger side of the engine compartment and the heater outlet exits under the rear passenger seat.

It's a self-contained unit with it's own petrol pump and spark plug.  Petrol is sprayed into a chamber of the unit and is ignited by the spark plug. A high speed fan then blows superheated air into the passenger compartment. Originally a timer switch was part of the package and permitted a 30 second blast of hot air. Sadly, I no longer have the switch, which was dash-mounted, but a modern-day timer switch should be available.

This not a made-up unit but a  Volkswagen accessory that was made available for overseas climates more severe than our own.

STARTING PRICE IS TO COVER THE ADVERTISEMENT COST, THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM
