We have sold over 1000 of these kits and now we are running low on the Tubes so get in before they run out. The Raytheon Tubes/valves are Military specification and will last for thousands of hours. It will probably never ever need replacement. * Update* I just received another 100 tubes so things are looking up. I now also supply this with much smaller Greencap capacitors and a AAA size battery holder that allows you build this into the Guitar if you want! Why pay hundreds for a Tube Guitar Preamp when you can build you own for a few dollars.
Want a Tube Preamp that can be used as a Microphone preamplifier or Guitar preamp or distortion unit. Well I had a supply of military grade Raytheon tubes so I designed a really neat general purpose preamp. This runs on batteries, one 9 Volt and one 1.5 volt, battery life is close to 200 hours. Using battery power gets rid of any hum or earth loops. The kit consists of one Raytheon Vacuum tube, 2 capacitors, 3 resistors, a 9 V battery snap, 1.5 volt battery holder and 2 Tag strips. Comes with circuit and instructions and all the above components to make either a high quality TRIODE preamp for Audiophile use or can be wired as a PENTODE to get great overdriven guitar sounds. Input impedance is 1 Meg and output is 100K Ohms. Very simple to build. Here is a link to my website showing an install into an Ibanez control cavity. http://www.hvtubes.com/Guitar_tube_mounting.php

If you cannot put together a simple electronics kit then do not buy this kit! If you want a "Solid State" Mini Guitar Preamp I have some J-Fet ones in my Ebay Shop. These are also in kit form. |
